Laparascopic Salpingo-Oophorectomy

Project details

This animation was created as a collaborative project with fellow peers; Sarah Crawley and Lucas Lin. The purpose of the video was to create a teaching tool for a medical resident pedigogy research study to examine which of either static slideshow (PowerPoint) or video was more effective in producing better surgical outcomes in medical resident performance. The study called for the combination of live surgical video with simple animation over static illustrations to explain concepts. Five video modules were created in the set representing different stages of the surgical process. Storyboarding was done collaboratively and assets were shared. I was responsible for creating the laparascopic view of the uterus illustration (created in Illustrator and Photoshop) and animating the anatomy/surgical procedure module (produced in AfterEffects).
